OUR MISSION

North American Watercolor (NAW) welcomes artists from around the world who share a passion for watercolor.
At North American Watercolor, we believe in the power of connection, creativity, and recognition.
Our mission is to uplift watercolor artists everywhere by providing opportunities to exhibit, learn, and grow — together setting a new gold standard for the watercolor arts.

About NORTH
AMERICAN WATERCOLOR

North American Watercolor (NAW) is a contemporary society of artists united by a shared passion for watercolor.

Our mission is to celebrate, elevate, and connect watercolorists across North America and beyond — fostering opportunity, visibility, and artistic excellence in today’s watercolor world.

WHO WE ARE

  • We are watercolor artists who believe in   connection, creativity, and recognition.
  • NAW was founded to honor the timeless beauty of watercolor while embracing innovation and diversity in the medium. We strive to build a community where every member feels   seen, supported, and celebrated.
  • Founded by artist Lana Cease and her husband Gene, North American Watercolor grew from a shared love of the medium and a belief that watercolor artists everywhere should feel connected, valued, and inspired to shine.
  • As part of our mission, NAW is committed to inspiring the next generation of artists through future youth competitions, scholarships, and mentorship opportunities designed to nurture creativity and confidence in young watercolorists.
